SUMMARY:Coastal Marine Ecology of the Keys Teacher Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Explore the marine communities inn the upper keys!\nThis week long journey is spent snorkeling seagrass\, mangroves\, and coral reefs! \nAll of the workshops are content oriented and designed for middle and high school science teachers. \nThe program focuses on the basics of marine ecology in the upper Florida Keys. There will be trips to the seagrass\, mangrove\, and coral reef communities\, along with a few others. \n**Participants should be comfortable in the water\, but do not need to be experienced snorkelers \nCost includes all workshop fees\, but DOES NOT include transportation to MarineLab \n\nMeals\, accommodations\, field trips\, evening activities\, and snorkel gear IS PROVIDED\nA $100 deposit is needed at time of registeration\n\n

Each day has a different starting point\, so make sure to check the daily schedule! \nDay 1: "Starting at the Southernmost Beach Pier we’ll weave through the southernmost neighborhood pointing out historic landmarks and end up at the Bahama Village pool for a snack and a dip. We’ll stay for an hour and play on the playground and move further into the “village” with a stop at The COAST Outpost for lunch and t-shirt printing. From there\, we’ll walk down to the old military lookouts behind the village and end at the Truman Waterfront for tree climbing\, games and the new splash park!"
